Chiswick Boiler installation
This one was to take out the old 35KW non condensing boiler which was showing signs of being on its last legs. It couldn’t be repaired if it went down over Christmas, so the Landlord decided to get it replaced.
So after contacting myself via Checkatrade, I managed to book it in before Christmas.
The challenge was to find a boiler that could fit inside the envelope of the existing cupboard, which included the flue as well. The flue on the old boiler came out of the rear and the old pipework was tight up against the boiler, so I didn’t have much room.
I found Glowworm Energy 30KW condensing combi to fit the bill. Although 5kw less, it actually had the same output as the older 35kw Worcester Bosch, due to advances in efficiency. The new Combi boiler also had a rear flue so I could keep it within the cupboard.
After installing the new boiler I had to rebalance the radiators to work with the newer energy efficient pump which did take time as one radiator did not want to get hot straight away.
All good Landlord and tenant happy, ready for Christmas!
