Gas Safety week 2016 is fast approaching! We all need to give our boilers a health check before the winter comes having piece of mind that it wont fail when we need it most. If your Boiler service has lapsed its 12 month check it would be good to sort it out now whilst the weather is good and there are Gas plumbers and Gas engineers available. Also awareness needs to be raised for the silent killer, Carbon Monoxide. This is always down to a faulty gas boiler which hasn’t been serviced every 12 months. If you haven’t yet bought a good Carbon Monoxide alarm do so now! Don’t wait for the Gas Safety week. You just need 0.01% of Carbon Monoxide in the air to feel a tightness over the forehead with prolonged exposure. Just 0.4% of Carbon Monoxide in the air will lead to a Coma within a few minutes! On all of my Gas boiler service, Gas fire service, cooker service, if there isn’t a Carbon Monoxide detected, I will always offer one.
